

Barberi Riccardo Cristoforo

Riccardo Cristoforo Barberi is a physicist, author of 167 scientific papers, as well as 15 patents. He is a Full Professor of Applied Physics and serves as the Director of the Physics Department at the University of Calabria in Italy. In 2002, he was one of the co-founders of Netval, the Italian Network for Research Valorization. From 2002 to 2013 he served as the Rector Delegate for TT at the University of Calabria and launched the local TTO, or “Liaison Office”. In 2009, he launched the first business incubator in Calabria, “Technest”, and established the regional business competition, “Start Cup Calabria”. He has managed 5 European projects and 11 national programs for university TT. Currently, he is the scientific manager for the “Upgrade of the STAR research infrastructure, Southern European Thomson ICS x-ray source for Applied Research”. STAR is one of 18 new strategic research infrastructures in Italy.
