

Bouchikhi Benachir

Benachir Bouchikhi presently, is Professor Emeritus of Moulay Ismaïl University of Meknes. He received his Ph.D. and D. SC. degrees in electronics from Université de droit, d’Economie et des Sciences d’Aix Marseille III, Université de Nancy I, France, in 1982 and 1988, respectively. He got a position of titular Professor at Moulay Ismaïl University of Meknes, Faculty of Sciences, Morocco since 1994. He was the Director of the Laboratory of Electronics, Automatic and Biotechnology from 2006 until 2020. His research interests involve topics covering semiconductor metal oxide for chemical gas sensing applications, VOCs analysis in exhaled breath and Human urine, development of electronic-nose and electronic-tongue systems for non-invasive disease diagnosis, food safety, and environmental monitoring. He is author/or co-author of more than 165 peer reviewed publications (h-index of 34, Scopus), 140 congress publications, 5 book chapters, and supervised 14 doctoral thesis, 4 Habilitations. He has also participated in more than 20 national and international research projects related to gas sensors, and electronic instrumentation. He was a member of the H2020-MSCA-RISE-2014 project TROPSENSE: "Development of a non-invasive breath test for early diagnosis of tropical diseases" (Reference No: 645758), and actually a member of the H2020-MSCA-RISE-2020 project CANLEICH: "Non-invasive volatiles test for canine leishmaniasis diagnosis", No: 101007653.
