Jeong Kwang-Un

Prof. Kwang-Un Jeong received his PhD in Polymer Science from The University of Akron (Akron, OH, USA) in 2005 and worked as a post-doctoral researcher for two years under the supervision of Prof. Stephen Z. D. Cheng (The University of Akron, USA) and Prof. Edwin L. Thomas (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA). Since 2007, he has been a professor at the Department of Polymer-Nano Science and Technology, Jeonbuk National University of Korea. He leads the Advanced Molecular Engineering Lab. (AMEL), which focuses on the synthesis and characterization of novel monomers and polymers for electronics, optics, and energy applications. He has published 231 papers in SCI journals as a corresponding author or co-author, has 50 patents, and has given numerous scientific presentations in conferences on the self-assembly of supramolecular structures as a function of molecular geometry on different length scales for electro-optical applications. He has coordinated several national research projects, including Basic Research Laboratory (BRL) and Mid-Career Researcher Program, supported by the National Research Foundation. He has also conducted international collaborative research in the Air Force Defense Research Science Program with support from The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), and is collaborating with Prof. Luciano De Sio in an international Multi-Year Project supported by the NATO Science for Peace and Security Program.
